The first Tuesday in August, neighborhoods in Minnesota come together to celebrate Night to Unite, a nationwide event dedicated to building stronger neighborhoods and promoting community safety. If you’re looking for ways to connect with neighbors and local police, Night to Unite is the perfect opportunity!
What is Night to Unite?
Night to Unite (also known nationally as National Night Out) happens every August. It’s a night when families and neighbors gather outside for block parties, cookouts, games, and meet-and-greets with local first responders. Whether your kids love fire trucks or you just want to connect with other parents on your street, it’s a great way to strengthen your community and make it feel a little smaller—in the best way.
This year, Night to Unite is on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Participating cities across the East Metro, including Woodbury, Oakdale, Cottage Grove, Bayport, Hastings, Lake Elmo, and Stillwater, offer a variety of events and neighborhood celebrations.
